General Statement

We are following CDC guidelines as it relates to the Corona Virus with support from FDA, (ASB) American Society Of Baking and AIB (American Institute of Baking).  We monitor these highly credentialed sources numerous times per day for updates and direction.

The a/m are all in agreement that risk of transmission via the food supply at the point of manufacture is minimal to non-existent.  We are following our HACCP, GMP and SOP which are specifically designed to mitigate risks such as the one we face with the Corona Virus. For all intents and purposes we are relying on our regular systems, protocols and procedures, however out of an abundance of caution we have increased our vigilance, oversight and enacted special protocols.  The heightened concerns of the employees, our customers and the consumers has led us to enact additional monitoring and procedures to alleviate concerns and further bolster our food safety program.

ENHANCED PROCEDURES

  1. Our production area is closed to all those deemed not critical to operations and production.

  2. Building security has been enhanced and is confirmed daily to harden entry into the plant.

  3. We have reduced inbound delivery counts to lessen exposure from suppliers of the business

  4. We have cancelled all non-essential on-site and off-site visits and meetings.

  5. We hold daily plant wide meetings to reinforce handwashing, hygiene and CDC recommended personal protection measures.

  6. We have relaxed our sick time filing requirements so that associates can call out with limited notice.

  7. We are using CDC published materials and recommendations to educate the staff  for activity and practices both in and outside the workplace.

  8. We have enhanced sanitation processes in public spaces – hand rail and other touch points being sanitized every 4 hours, reinforced training of sanitation crews for GMP area, assigned staff dedicated to monitor compliance with GMP and SOP throughout the plant.

  9. We have sufficient stock and availability of supply for all cleaning, hygiene and personal protection equipment.

  10. We met with our suppliers to validate the cleaning agents supplied meet effectiveness standards for the specific threat.

  11. We have confirmed and partially enacted our disaster recovery plan for remote access to front end operations and they are sound.

CONCLUSION

Our internal risk assessment, based on the guidance supplied by the CDC, FDA, ASB and AIB show that the threat lies mostly in the health and well-being of our staff with limited risk from the products we produce.  This is a fluid situation, we are vigilant in seeking and obtaining guidance and support from credentialed sources.  Food Safety is the cornerstone of our business and industry, our actions and efforts demonstrate our commitment to producing safe, quality food.
